Deputy Fire Chief - Emergency Medical Services

The Town of Scarborough Fire Department is seeking a highly skilled full-time Deputy Fire Chief responsible for overseeing the department's emergency medical services division. The candidate will be a member of the senior management team and will assist the Fire Chief in leading a combination department of nearly 200 employees in a community encompassing 54 square miles and a year round population of 20,000 residents, growing considerably larger during the summer season. The department operates out of six neighborhood stations and responds to over 4,200 calls for service per year.

Duties include working with the Fire Chief to maintain a highly motivated, well-trained, work force including full-time, per-diem, and call members. The successful candidate will provide leadership and command presence, perform EMS activities including assuming incident command, ensure compliance with state and local EMS protocols, department SOPs, SOGs and General Orders; and perform other duties as required or assigned.

Position requirements: Associates degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; NFPA Firefighter I & II certification or equivalent; Pro Board Fire Officer Certification, completion of State certified AVOC/EVOC class; EMT-P license; minimum of five (5) years firefighting/EMT experience in a full-time capacity; and successful completion of post-offer comprehensive physical exams.

Raymond Fire & Rescue Department is seeking a Full Time Paramedic/ Firefighter.

Minimum qualifications include: Maine licensed paramedic preferred Firefighter Cert. The job consists of a 24 hour rotational shift.
